Breakfast with Grandsons!

Jake came over to have breakfast with us!!  It's always good to see him and catch up!!

Technically we had breakfast with Jett as well this morning!
When we were driving over, he texted wanting to know if he should eat breakfast or not!  Of course, we couldn't take him to school hungry!!  The doughnut shop was a necessity stop!!  He ate while we drove him to school!
Amber thinks "he obviously knows special treats come when he gets to hang out with us" (Her quote)!!  Why would anyone think differently???
Grandkids are so special!!

Beautiful Tulips

My tulips are beautiful!

I have to enjoy them while I can!  It seems as the winds or heavy rain come the same time the tulips are in full bloom!!

New Kitchen Faucet

Since my kitchen faucet was getting worn out, it was time for a new one!  Mel and I attempted to change out the faucet.  Well, we ran into a problem of getting the bolt off that held the faucet to the under-counter bracket - all of Mel's tools were not long enough to get past the "post" extending down.
I checked with Jeff to find out if there was a secret to getting it off.  He just said he would come down and do it for us!  Who could turn down an offer like that!!

My sweet hubby attempting to change the faucet!

The Problem!!

The Solution!

The new faucet
How I have been enjoying my new faucet!!

We were thrilled Jeff stayed and had breakfast with us!  It's nice to have time to visit with family!!

Our Baby Chicks

Mel and I decided we wanted fresh eggs daily so we bought 4 baby chicks!

Nothing like resting in the food bowl!!
The one seems to have chosen not to be crowded in the bowl!

For a while these girls will be traveling chicks - from farm to Yukon, then back to the farm.
They grow up to be like the one hen that rode on the back of a truck to our farm, then hopped off and stayed!!

Grandson - Grandmom Date

I met Jake at Hideaway Pizza for a meal.  We called it "Grandson-Grandmom Date"!
It was good to see each other and visit!!

Special times make special memories!

Jett

We picked Jett up from track practice.

Enjoying chips and dip at Chelinos before his entree!!

Jett spent the night with us, then after breakfast we took him to school.

Our "bacon bandit"!

Biscuits, gravy and bacon!

Winter Weather in April!!

Hard to believe we had freezing rain in April!

The decorative stove on the porch is covered with ice!

A north window in the house is coated with the ice from freezing rain!

A Cold, Cold Easter!

What a cold Easter we had this year!  Since it fell on April's Fool Day, it made you first think it was a joke!  Unfortunately, it was not!!
With the cold temps and misty rain the thought of spring was far from the mind!

Another Year - Another Bunny Cake !!

Another year for me to make my traditional bunny cake.  I have not missed a year since Mel and I have been married.
As Mat said, "Quite a tradition and can't stop it now!"  I agree!!

Easter Eve Brunch

The Woods Family hosted The Elliott Family and Mel and I for an Easter Brunch.  We enjoyed delicious food and the time to catch-up with activities in everyone's life.

How blessed we are as a family to be able to get together!!

Home-Cooking for Jacob

I thought Jake, Mr. Independent, might enjoy home-cooking.  He came over to the Surrey house for chicken fry steak, cream potatoes, gravy and green beans, plus chocolate-chip cookies.

A nap is in order after a meal!

We enjoyed seeing our young man enjoy lunch and enjoyed visiting with him!
