Our crop of calves are pretty things. As Grandpop will ask what kind of cows or calves he has, the grandkids will respond, "Sure enough good-looking" cows or calves."

Jett's 9th Birthday
Hard to believe that our youngest grandchild turned 9! How quickly they are growing up! Of course, Mel and I are not getting older at all!!
One of Jett's favorites - chocolate chip cookie pizza
Happy Birthday Jett!!
February Horse Show
With the weather limiting the amount of practice time, Mel, as he said, "Came in the middle of the pack" on the competitions. The exception was Cow Working - he came in 3rd there and would have won 1st place if he had heard the signal to change ends of the arena during the competition.
We look forward to the March Show!

Practicing For February Horse Show
The Stock Horse show season will begin in February. Time to practice and get Buttercup ready for competition, especially the Trail part.
The horse pulling a log will be one of the activities of Trail. Buttercup didn't want to have anything to do with a post tied to a rope for her to pull at first, but after patience and a lot of practice, she did much better!

Of course, the curiosity of our cat took over and he had to check out what was taking place.
Don't know if he is waiting to encourage Buttercup or protecting the post!!

Mel's New Boots
Loveless Shoe Company called to say Mel's custom made boots were ready! How exciting!
Mel is so proud of them and enjoys the comfort since they are made specifically for his feet!

Time to see how they fit!
Mel's new belt to match his boots
Mel is really enjoying the comfort of his new boots. Boots he had bought off the rack would feel good at first then hurt his feet later when worn for a long time. No more discomfort or worry about that!
Chickens Are Laying Once Again
After the chickens molted (the time to renew plumage where they lose and replace their feathers) we are now getting fresh eggs. With the chickens new feathers, they look so pretty! How I missed having the farm fresh eggs for cooking!
