Thanksgiving would be at our house and we would have 20. Mel and I went to Crest to purchase the needed groceries. We made it a fun day by shopping then enjoying chicken-fried steak at Tiffany's.
Early in November we had our first taste of winter. We received about an inch of snow on the farm. A record of 2.5 " was set in OKC. Could this be an indication of our coming winter?
An added note: November, 2014 was the coldest on record since the 1800's!!
Mel and I were delegates to the Farm Bureau Convention that was held in Tulsa. We stayed at the Renaissance Hotel. The location was great and it was easy to shop at the stores close-by.
Soup and sandwich were tasty since it was a cold blustery day!
Mel had a rough week with bumps and bruises. The first thing that happened was he stumped his toe. He had a very sore toe as well as being purple! I was not able to get a picture of the second happening. He was on a ladder putting conduit up to have an electrical outlet close to the horse stalls. He wanted to be able to plug in a heater for the horses' water. Fortunately, the ladder just slid down the wall and he did a great job of "riding the ladder" down. Luckily, he did not break anything - just had skinned shins, a sore ankle and bruised knee! Thank goodness, Jeff came by just as it happened and was gracious enough to complete the job for us!
