Jett Spends Time on the Farm

School was out so Jett could spend extended time on the farm.

Holding the baby chick

Mel needed feed from the feed store so we stopped by there before we delivered meals.  The store has unique candy and gum.  Jett bought the Gold Mine Nugget Bubble Gum.

Choices, choices, choices

Waiting to get the meals

Jett handed me the dessert.

Back at home, it was time for hot dogs!

Jett worked on fold-n-fly airplanes.

He also built a wooden model airplane.

Cedar Fence

Mel had been thinking of what to do to cover up an unsightly fence next to our entrance ( it is owned by a company that does not take care of the fences.  On our way to Texas he had seen cedar posts at various entrances.
On our way back from meeting the Woods Family, we stopped at Teskey's Farm Supply Store in Weatherford, Texas and bought several cedar posts for our project.

Getting the posts ties up

Now to add mulch and landscape timbers

Off to an antique store to purchase some items for our project

We found a corn sheller, wagon wheels, and cream can at the antique store.

Meeting at Natty Flatt Barbecue

The meeting place for the Woods and for us was Natty Flatt Barbecue at Lipan, Texas on Highway 281 S.  Texas Hill Country Furniture and Mercantile is next door to Natty Flatt's.
What delicious barbecue we had!  We especially enjoyed their "warm baked potato salad", a first for us.  Yum!  Yum!

Picture Time
In front of the store is a large rocker - a great place for pictures.

A good meal enjoyed with family!!

Time on Farm Coming to an End

The girls week on the farm was coming to a close.   Everyone stayed busy!  We did afternoon reading, feeding the horses and chickens, completing sewing projects and nature observations.

Stopping at Teskey's Farm Store
On the way to meet Melodi and Bryan we stopped at Teskey's Farm Store.  Because it has so many items, it is overwhelming on your first visit.

Meeting Parents and Brothers

What sweet, loving, kind and thoughtful girls Emma and McKaylea are!  They are also good workers!
We enjoyed having them for a week.  Bryan and Melodi have done a great job raising them.
