A Week-end in OKC

Mel and I spent last week-end in the "big city".  Kind of hard to imagine we lived not far from there for 17 years.  Farm Bureau had asked us to be delegates to  their convention at the Cox Center.
The AQHA Horse Show was also going on so we headed up Friday and saw some of the shows, then headed out to have lunch with Amberlea and Jett.  After doing a few errands we went to Walmart on Expressway for some snacks and I was "ran into" a librarian from Surrey and then later an aid who worked at the school and I had both of her children in class.  It was good to see them and "catch-up".
Saturday it was time for the convention and that evening a banquet with Joe Diffee being the entertainer.
Sunday we visited the horse show again and then headed home.
Our short trip was fun and enjoyable, but as the old saying goes, "There's no place like home!".
