Digging Potatoes in the Mud!

Mat and I went to Ada to do a few errands.  What a big help Mat is helping unload groceries and feed.  After we had been home a few minutes, Since clouds were building in the west, Grandpop called and suggested we dig potatoes before it rained.
We did get half of them dug before the rain began.

Raining!!

Time to stop digging!

We spread the potatoes on a tarp so the rain could wash away the mud!

Later in the day we went back to get the potatoes.  They had washed off fairly well, but were in mud on the tarp.

Do boys ever outgrow playing in the mud and water???

Grandpop and Mat getting things ready to spread the potatoes on the patio

We wanted the potatoes to be off the patio floor (a possum had eaten a few onions we had spread on the patio floor).  Grandpop put an empty water trough with the frame screen on top so air could circulate around the potatoes.  Great idea, Grandpop!!

The potatoes all spread out and ready for cooking.
Looking forward to garden fresh potatoes!!  Yum!!
