"1968 Champs" Get-Together

The double state champs of 1968 decided to have a "get-together" in Arlington, Texas on June 23rd.
Mel and I had lunch at Dickey's Barbecue before we all met.

The meeting spot was the Holiday Inn Express close to the Ballpark.
Then we were going to see a 2:05 ballgame of Texas Rangers vs. Colorado Rockies

These were the guys able to make it.
Back row - left to right:  Paul Quinton, Buzzy Ivey, John Bradford Mel Bradford, Mike Fairchild
Front - left to right:  Travis Wingard, Bubba Tidwell and his grandson, Tegan

Visiting Time

After a fun time of "catching-up" we headed to the Ballpark for the 2:05 ballgame of Texas Rangers vs. Colorado Rockies.  Mike had so graciously purchased tickets for the whole group.
It was a hot day - 97 degrees!

The Double Champs of 1968 were acknowledged on the sign in the Ballpark - note the last line - It said, "Roff Tigers 1968 OK
Double St. Champs"

Of course, Mel and I had to have their "everything" nachos!

The Rangers did not "fare too well" on this game.  They lost 11 to 7.
Mel and I headed back to the Holiday Inn where we were staying to cool off.

After the ballgame the group went to the Texas Land and Cattle Co. Steak House.

The group enjoyed a delicious meal and more visiting.
What a fun time to see everyone and spend time together!
