Our Hummingbird

Above our patio doors we have a transom window.  For a few days now a hummingbird has been sitting on the narrow ledge there.  It just seems to sit there and observe whatever is taking place in the kitchen area. 
My theory is with the extreme temps, the hummingbird is out of the sun and has a safe and cool place to perch.
