Garden Bounty

It's been a strange year for gardens.

I canned 16 quarts of pickled beets.

Green beans were bearing until grasshoppers ate the plants.

Fresh snapped green beans - ready to be cooked

Our "old" plum tree had a good crop of plums.  I have made 2 batches of jelly and have juice in the freezer for more when I need some.

Onions on our patio

Our potato crop

I planted something new this year - "fingerling potatoes".

Produce summary:  onions did well; potatoes only about half of what they normally do; grren beans good until grasshoppers arrived; squash good; plums good; beets did well.  We are thankful for what bounty we do have each year!
