Here's What's Happening on the Farm

It's weaning time and sale time for calves!  That means, "It's crying time again (or for the cows and calves bawling time)".
Our heifers are now ready to be weaned.  We will keep them to add to our herd.  The steers will be loaded and sent to the sale barn.

What good-looking calves

The mamas

I'm sure the calves are trying to figure out how to get through the fenced area to their mamas.

Off they go to another home

We had one bull calf born in April.  Mel thought about keeping him so we would have beef in the freezer.  While separating the calves, that little dude ran right through a panel and knocked out the staples holding it to the post.  With him such a wild little guy, he just went to the sale also.
We don't keep wild things around here for everyone's safety.
