The Girls and Jett on the Farm (Sunday afternoon)

It seems as though the times the grandkids are here, the weather goes to extremes.  When the boys were here in June, it rained!  Now, the week the girls are on the farm, hot weather has set in for us, so much so that a "heat advisory" is issued for us.
In preparation for this we purchased some fun things for the kids to do in the afternoons when it's so hot.

A fort was built using pillows and blankets - the kids slept in this for 3 nights.

What could be better than hoe-made chocolate malts and creamy macron and cheese (especially from a kid's point of view)!

Chore Time
The kids caught grasshoppers for the chickens

Everyday I give "the girls", as I call the chickens, a little extra treat of left-over dessert, bread or vegetables.  They seem to always" really go after" their treat.

Gathering Eggs

Grandpop decided Rosebud needed a shampoo.  All 3 grandkids helped.

Everyone wants to drive the "Gator or Mule".  McKaylea's legs are not quite long enough to reach the pedals while she steers.

We have devised a schedule so that each one has time to drive on of the vehicles.

The farm is now full of excitement and we have plenty of helpers (if it's a chore they enjoy doing)!
