Sunday - Cruise Day

All agreed to meet in lobby of hotel at 7:00 for breakfast, then we would head to Galveston to board the Carnival Breeze Ship.  How exciting!!

The clouds were moving in as we drove to Galveston!  Little did we know how they would impact our day later!!

Carnival Breeze in port at Galveston

Shopping on the Boardwalk in Galveston sounded like fun.  First, Starbucks sounded great!  We parked in a parking lot close to Starbucks for $10.

We decided it might be a good idea to check out the situation for Cruise Terminal and where their parking was located.  It started to rain!  Little did we know how much it would continue to rain!!

Cruise Terminal
We found out the parking was down the street and that we could check luggage immediately!

Robert, our luggage handler, a super nice fellow

Unloading the luggage

Putting the red tags with our names on the luggage

The guys left to park the vehicles and the rest of us went to a nearby restaurant patio to wait on them and to get out of the bustle and confusion at the cruise terminal.  People were debarking the ship, shuttles were loading and unloading people and luggage!  We wanted a peaceful place to wait until boarding time!!
It rained, rained and rained!!
You can see by the gutter spout the amount of rain.

The guys were in line at the parking lot for quite a period of time.  Finally, they were able to park and then caught a shuttle to return to the terminal.  We waited on the patio for their return.

By the time the guys arrived back, they were soaked (to put it mildly)!!

The view from the patio

We watched the pelicans while waiting.  I don't think the one on the right moved while we were there!

Check-In

All checked in and then went to our waiting zone.

Our ship and sail cards

Zone 5 was our waiting area.

Mel had purchased a tee shirt at the Johnson Space Center and I just put it in our carry-on bag.  He was cold and decided he wanted a dry shirt!!  His shoes were soaked as well, but we did not have extra shoes then.

Around 1:00 p.m. our zone was called to board!  Off we go!

On the ship this lady was ready to answer any questions.

First stop Deck 10 to EAT!
Everyone was more than ready to eat!!

Bon Voyage!!!!
In our room
We rested while we waited for our luggage

Safety Drill Meeting
At 3:40 we had the safety drill meeting.  There were no life jackets this time!
We did not see the Ellottt Family - come to find out they were sent to a different location.

 Dining Room
We had the first dinner seating at 6:00.  These were our waiters.

After dinner I registered the boys for activities at Club O2 for the 15 - 17 year old kids.  Mel checked out the casino.  The boys were off to the activities.
After registering the boys I searched for a place to purchase a curling iron.  I had forgotten mine and left it in another bag.  A curling iron is something that cannot be purchased on a cruise ship!!

Sailing on the Seas!
What a beautiful sight!

Our cruise has begun!!!
