For 30 years Johnny and June Cash had a home, Cinnamon Hill great house, in Jamaica.  They sponsored a school for orphaned and abandoned children in Barrett Town.  He wrote "The Ballard of Annie Palmer" inspired by the story of the "White Witch of Rose Hall".  Proceeds from the sale of the song went to Barrett Town school they established.
Today, their daughter continues to fund the school, provide uniforms and transportation for children.

$100 Jamaican equals $1.

Rose Hall Great House
This house has quite the story!  Built in 1770 by John Palmer and his wife, but eventually his grandnephew (also named John) became the resident,  He married Annee, a beautiful but feisty English girl.  Little did he know that his young wife possessed "black magic" powers that would eventually lead to his death as well as 2 other husbands and countless lovers.  She was cursed by slaves and turned a magnificent plantation into a horrible atrocity.  Countless slaves fell prey to her torture.  She became known as "The White Witch of Rose Hall".  There are those who claim to see Annee passing through the Great House.
