As usual January brought winter weather. We had an ice storm and also snow. Our electricity was off for 6 hours. The fireplace sure came in handy to keep us warm and Mel used a wind-up radio (cranking the radio gave it power) to keep up with the latest weather and news. The only problem was every few minutes the radio had to be wound-up.
